_small.jpg) | This was from the Dennis McMurdie collection. Paper remnant just said Copper, Butte with no other explanation. It is not Copper. It looks like its a Stalactitic Goethite like occurs at Roxbury Connecticut. It is not a 100% match with the Roxbury specimens shown in mindat. It also looks to be terminated at both ends. Under a scope it looks like Microcystalline Chalcopyrite present on the specimen and some areas the "lumpy" Goethite has a resemblance to Pyrite form like possible Goethite pseudomorph after Pyrite. I did not find a solid match looking through mindat. ex Dennis McMurdie collection. |
