21hhdw.er ((MILLERITE, PYRITE, QUARTZ)), $85 MINIMUM BID, US 27 Roadcut, Halls Gap, Lincoln County, Kentucky. 4 x 3.5 x 1.5 cm, Miniature

Unusual Halls Gap Millerite specimen. Inside is lined with botryoidal drusy Quartz. It has a lustrous Pyrite crystal at the lower area of the hollow geode. Fine hairlike crystals of Millerite through out the open area which are more easily seen with a loop or photo. Nake eye looks more like the large view and the Millerite seens hidden without the light shinning on the hairlike crytals. Next to the Pyrite is a large multi hairlike crystals in a thick bungle. I believe collecting is closed due to the danger of collapsing under mined diggings. ex Dana Wilson MD collection.
