FEATURED ITEM $90 Min Bid - FLOATING CRINOID, RHADINOCRINUS DACTYLUS, Devonian, Hunsruckschiefer, Bundenbach, Germany, 7 cm across

This is a floating crinoid from the famous fossil location of Bundenbach, Germany. These were slate quarries using the slate for slate roofs in Germany. For years the German slate workers would save the slate with fossils. The slate quarries have since been closed and most of the workers have sold their fossil accumulations to the fossil dealer/ preparers. Our German source for Bundenbach fossils in slate says that the sources are virtually dryed up and the only specimens are from personal collections which are not being sold very often.
