Small light yellow orange lustrous octahedral Scheelite crystals from Ophir.   Specimens with some Calcite fluorescent red orange under UVSW. The Scheelite is a very bright white or bluish white under UVSW. Most specimens from the mine have Calcite covering the Scheelite.  Calcite must be dissolved with HCl to show the Scheelite crystal coverage of the specimen.  The Mine is closed and not accessible for collecting and the Scheelite specimens that were easy to collect have long since been collected.   They come out of collections either as specimens with the Calcite dissolved or specimens with the Calcite still covering the Scheelite.   This was a specimen from the Dana Wilson collection that was recently prepped removing the Calcite.  ex Dana Wilson collection.
