11hhceis   ((GOETHITE pseudomorph after PYRITE)),   $10 MINIMUM BID, Pelican Point, Utah County, Utah, 3.5 x 3.5 x 2.5  cm,  Miniature,

Pelican Point is famous for its Goethite pseudos after Pyrite.  These were commercial open pit quarried and sold at Tucson one year.  These were singles and clusters of cubic Pyrite crystals.  Over the hill on the west side of the mountain it has since be discovered that pseudomorphs also occur but their crystal shape is pyritahedrons rather than cubes.   Here is a crystal cluster with one main crystal with faces from several other crystals.  The bottom is contact to another large crystal.  Coloration is dark chocolate brown.
