ws VIVIANITE with LUDLAMITE, Blackbird Mine, Lemhi County, Idaho, 6 x 4 x 1.5 cm | |
Here is an excellent miniature specimen from Idaho which appears to be undamaged. Its matrix has blocky green Ludlamite crystals which is seen along the edges especially on the back edge. The Ludlamite on the center of the specimen is evidently completely covered by Vivianite crystals which look like a pile of logs randomly placed. The blades of Vivianite has a blue color or bluish green which shows up with a little back light. The crystals which appear dark and opaque are actually translucent to almost transparent which held up to the light. This is a little hard to photograph, but some of the color did come through. This is a great miniature old timer and classic Idaho specimen. |
