9gfcdns ((BABINGTONITE)), $35 MINIMUM BID, Zao Feng Mine, Kun Ming, Yun Nan Province, China,  4.5 x 3 x 1.5 cm, Miniature

Early this year at Tucson these large crystaled Chinese Babingtons showed up. Most at Tucson were dull and looked like they had been acid etched. Maybe they were just naturally dull. Any with luster were very expensive. I was able to get this one inexpensive lustrous specimen with large crystals at the San Rafael Show. It has an area of contact with another crystal near the large crystals termination. At first glance this looks like it may be a chip or damage which is why I was able to buy this on so reasonable. But with a loop there is no fractured surface. Instead it looks like contact with another crystal now missing. This is a stepped cluster of double terminated lustrous crystals. Actually a very nice specimen. There is a little hot glue on the base that was attached to a plastic base.
