11hhceis ((GOETHITE pseudomorph after PYRITE)), $10 MINIMUM BID, Pelican Point Quarry, Utah Lake, Utah County, Utah, 3. 5 x 3 x 2.5 cm, Miniature, | |
These pyritahedral pseudos were found west of the original cubic pseudos commercially open pit mined by John Holfert. This specimen is a cluster of crystals totally undamaged except there is a contact area where other crystals were once joined. Neat part is that there is a 4 mm flake missing in this contact area that shows a core of Pyrite. So on this specimen the Goethite is a rather thin shell with the majority of the specimen still being Pyrite. |
