11hhceis ((3 GOETHITE pseudomorph after PYRITE)), $10 MINIMUM BID, Pelican Point Quarry, Utah Lake, Utah County, Utah, 3 cm, 3 Miniatures, | |
These pyritahedral pseudos were found west of the original cubic pseudos commercially open pit mined by John Holfert. Here are 3 similar sized clusters without any damage that I seem with an optivisor. But these are uncleaned as found. These were not even washed because much of the clay is nearly a powder and will easier clean up with only a washing but I wanted to leave these as is. There will also probably be some of the creases that will be a bit harder to remove the clay. But I do not think these will be anything like the cubic specimens which are a challenge and a half to clean. The clay on those is very hard to remove even with a water gun. I think these are a snap with a water gun. Probably even easy with a toothbrush. Or keep as is for a contrast. |
