10iddber ((SCHEELITE)),  $10 MINIMUM BID, Ophir Hill Mine, Ophir, Tooele County, Utah, 4 x 2.5 x .5 cm, Miniature

Here is a highly fluorescent Scheelite specimen from Utah. The base rock is covered on one side with small octahedral yellow crystals of Scheelite. These Scheelites are covered with Calcite which must be etched off with HCl. At one time these were fairly plentiful and I was able to get a good supply from a local collector. Now the mine has been sealed by the state and is privately owned. There is access from the owner who only allow limited access and collecting.
