_small.jpg) | Choice specimen of Birnessite, a rare species. A pair of Calcite stalactitic growths with interiors of black Birnessite. These were collected circa 1997. Most were sections. A few were like this one and complete. There is a little of the tip or termination of the shorter Calcite missing and it shows that the Birnessite goes all the way into the Calcite stalactic. Over the years, I have never seen these for sale other than the ones I had from the 1997 find. |
