 | A cluster of octahedral crystals of Magnetite from the Perovskite Hill locality in Magnet Cove. It is mounted in a thumbnail box and nicely fills the box. It was collected by the well known "digger" in Arkansas, Cylde Hardin. He traded Arkansas specimens with collectors thru out the world and USA. Back from WWII, his doctor told him he needed a hobby and so he began self collecting in Arkansas specializing in the Magnet Cove area that was still open to digging. He became known though the country and world. ex Clyde Hardin collection. I acquired much of his collection from his nephew after Clyde passed. Many of the Magnetites specimen were bulk as collected in boxes. This one was not bulk but in a flat of foldups and is one of the best Magnetite specimens. |
