14idce.rs ((MANGANOAN CALCITE)), Phila. Acadamy of Nat'l Sci., $50 MINIMUM BID, Schemnitz, Austria,  3.5 x 3 x 2 cm, Miniature

Manganoan Calcite specimen from Schemnitz, Austria from the famous collection of the Philadelphia Academy of Natural Sciences sold to Collectors Edge in Colorado for Millions. This should be fluorescent since it is Manganoan Calcite. It looks like the name of Schemnitz, Austria is now Banska Stiavnica, Slovakia per Mindat.org. Original Academy label # 24421. The academy had old specimens back to the 1700's. I have one interesting specimen from Wyoming Territory ie before Wyoming was a state. The Academy had Ben Franklin's mineral collection as part of the large collection that went to the Collectors Edge about 10 to 15 years ago ago.
