 | Here is a large Cabinet specimen from the famous open pit Copper Mine near Salt Lake City. This specimen is a bit heavy. ex University or Utah geology department. The crystals are small but very nice under a loop or optivisor. Pyrite, Chalcopyrite and Quartz are easily identified. The other grey to black crystals may be several Sphalerite, Galena, and ? Tetrahedrite. I was able to see crystals that are Galena with the stepped contours typical of some Galena crystals. I am not sure on the other minerals. Fine large sparkling old Bingham specimen. |
