 | The crushed stone quarry is precambrian, Grenville, amphibolite gneiss and this specimen is from the classic Alpine cleft type hydrothermal recrystallization. This is a classic Pennsylvania locality with the quarry currently filled with water and no collecting possible without diving equipment or holding your breath a long time. Here is a neat Calcite with included needles of Byssolite. Greenish and dark green needles of Byssolite also on the outside surface of the specimen. Inclusions best seen on the cleaved base. ex Rick Hafer collection. |
