300-9iddbcfiss ((SMOKY QUARTZ)), $5 MINIMUM BID, Andersons Creek, Black Range, Mooralla, Victoria, Australia, 5 x 5 x 3.5 cm, Miniature | |
A lustrous Smoky Quartz in a vug with other Quartz and slightly Smoky Quartz. ex Harold Michel collection, ex Dave Bunk at $100. I have not soaked this in acetone, but my feeling is that the Smoky and the matrix is Mooralla. However I feel that this may be a faked specimen with the Smoky added and glued in place. So I have started it at $5. Note that this was not labeled as repaired. But I am skeptical. But it is not high enough value to soak in acetone to make sure. So I am selling it as such. It is still an attractive specimen and the single crystal is still worth $10 to $25 as a thumbnail. The other label also says smoky in geode and the old price was $20 years ago. |
