Here is a slab of Howlite sawn of both sides and polished to a flat matte porcelain finish. Dyed Howlite has been sold as Turquoise. If your Turquoise chips and is white inside, it is Howlite. It occurs as nodules. Those from Boron have a brownish rind. Those with a grey rind are from Tick Canyon in Death Valley and now a national park. |
