5276 1hhdmtrs-2754  ((TOURMALINE variety ELBAITE, LEPIDOLITE, CLEAVELANDITE))   $150 MINIMUM BID, Minas Gerais, Minas Gerais, Brazil, 8.5 x 7 x 6 cm,  Cabinet,

Here is a terminated 8.7 cm multicolored Tourmaline.  Pretty pink and green combination on a matrix with other smaller Tourmalines, white bladed Cleavelandite crystals and bluish purple Lepidolite.  No damage or chipping except the Elbaite is repaired at about the half way point.  It is very hard to notice and I did not know and was not told when I got this from Diversified Minerals, a local Salt Lake dealer now retired for ten plus years.  I took a photo of the break and it is a little easier to see but still not easy.  Without the magnification from the photo it still is hard to believe.  I almost think it may just be a stabilized little crack.  If it is an actual repair the 4.5 cm terminated undamaged top of the Elbaite would make a great specimen on its own worth alot more than the min bid.  NOTE I PROBABLY DID NOT PUT THE PHOTO ON THE AUCTION LISTING.  CLICK ON THE AUCTION EXAMPLE PHOTOS ON THE LEHIGH HOME PAGE TO BRING UP THE WEB PAGE OF THE AUCTION LISTING AND GO TO ITEM 55 FOR ALL THE PHOTOS OF THE TOURMALINE.
