 | I do not know much about this specimen. It is from the Mel Cannon collection and has been kept in a plastic bag. It is dated 3/1990. It is a white undamaged complete crystal which is labeled synthetic Schoenite from the Great Western Mining Company, Ogden, Utah. Great Western Mining Company I believe is one of the companies extracting minerals from the Great Salt Lake. Mel Cannon was a chemist and head of the Chemistry department at Utah State (now retired for many years). |
