dmirs JAPAN TWIN QUARTZ, $25 MINIMUM BID, REPAIRED/FAKED SPECIMEN, PC Mine, Montana, 10 x 10 x 5 cm and twin is 3 x 2 x .5cm,  Cabinet

I got this in a retired dealers stock of minerals. He claimed that the specimen is REPAIRED with the twin glued back into position. With closer inspection I think it is obvious it is a Japan twin from the same pocket as the Quartz cluster but has been added to the Quartz cluster. So this is what is know as a FAKED specimen. You can let as is or use acetone to separate. The value is not the twin on matrix specimen but the value of two specimens. The one specimen is a cabinet PC Mine Quartz cluster which is a fine terminated Quartz specimen with only minor damage. The second specimen is a thumbnail sized Japan Law twinned Quartz without matrix and damage free. It does have a small internal bruise which should be seen in the photos. I had intent of separating the two specimens but grabbed it for the auction. In the dealers stock it was valued at $350. I think the value was probably $200 as a FAKED instead of REPAIRED specimen.
