| Here is are three Kemzeyite crystals, a rare zirconium garnet from Arkansas. The largest is 1 cm, which is huge for these small rare garnets. The smaller specimen has a Kimzeyite with an octahedral Perovskite. Clyde was a differ of Arkansas minerals all his life and an avid trader with collectors all over the world. From a lifetime of collecting, I got several flats of these rare garnets with the bulk of Clydes collection. He also had a fondness of mounting on flat styrofoan pads with thumbnail style risers and labeling with a typewriter or using the pads of return address labels with the species and location printed instead of a return address. He spent hours, days, years mounting the small thumbnail sized specimens. ex Clyde Hardin collection. |
