13attjnr  ((SMITHSONITE)) $20 MINIMUM BID, Hidden Treasure Mine, Ophir Hill District, Tooele County, Utah, 15 x 7 x 4 cm, Cabinet,

There is a Utah specimen from the Hidden Treasure Mine. Larger fine Smithsonite specimens are uncommon and its been in the 80's and early 90's since some good collecting has been done. The entrance was reportedly sealed by the state of Utah with a fatality of an indiviual who entered the mine and fell down a shaft in the late 90's . Since then I've heard that the entrance maybe locked and not sealed with the property owner allowing very limited access on occasion but not for specimen collecting. I have never been in but used to get specimens that Solon Hammack colllected in the 70's, 80's and perhaps as late as the early 90's before he moved out of the area and no longer collects. ex Solon Hammack specimen.
