_small.jpg) | Here is a double terminated bowtie Stilbite from the Marysvale area in Utah. The locality is on the top of a large hill requiring hiking forever up a steep ravine taking hours to accomplish and then pickings are slim. I actually collected there once and will not go back not finding anything worth while walking around the top of the hill/mountain after the laborous hike. I did not do any digging which is probably required being late afternnon until I got to the collecting site. A helicopter to the top would have been nice. This specimen was from old inventory from Advantage Rockshop, which closed in about the mid 1990's. It was probably collected in the 70's or 80's |
