_small.jpg) | Large tan crystals of Ludwigite to 5 x 1 x .6 cm. Solid matrix of Ludwigite that has been etched out of being enclosed in Calcite. It is a small and limited prospect. Photos show the specimen sides which mostly are flat the some Ludwigite and what used to be Calcite filling in between the Ludwigite. Then the Calcite is etched and dissolved away with probably HCl exposing the huge crystals of Ludwigite that were included and protected within the Calcite. There was only two large specimens available this year from material collected several years ago. |
