_small.jpg) | Here is a specimen with terminated scalenohedral crystals of Calcite with multiple generations of Calcite. Original crystals have a white opaque crystal with a brown exterior layer. Here is the other extreme where the secondary growth of thick white opaque small Calcite crystals that have completely covered and blanketed the original sharp terminated scalenahedral crystals. Old material that will probably never be collected again. Access is not allowed by owners. Collected in the late 80's to early 90's by Solon Hammack a prominent Utah field collector in the 80's. ex Solon Hammack collection. |
