4269 WULFENITE, CALCITE, Lucin Mine, Box Elder County, Utah,  8 x 6 x 5 cm

Golden yellow Wulfenite crystals with some white Calcite. This was collected in 1997 from a small pocket yielding a dozen or so specimens. I purchased the pocket the week of 911 at the Denver show. This was one of the 4 largest. These are very uncommon on the market. Last find was in the mid ninetys which yielded several flats.  I was in this mine a couple of years ago and the four of us found only small crystals of little value. It is extremely hard to find the large yellow Wulfenites know to come from this mine. Also the mine is terribly dustly. If you had to collect this, it would be worth many times its actually value. Typical damage to this specimen. I think these Wulfenite all are intergrown in the pockets and impossible to collect undamaged. I have never seen any isolated undamage crystals. This is a classic US Wulfenite location, and it is not in Arizona.
