Olive green fused sand from the desert floor with a total weight of 3.5 gm. Sand was melted and fused July 16, 1945 during the first Atom Bomb detonation and test. Some material was collected by a local rock shop in the early 50's. Radioactive at the time, now 70 years later it is barely radioactive. Now a historic site with no collecting of any rocks allowed and the government had already removed and buried the remaining Trinitite to prevent any collecting. ex Dennis McMurdie collection. |
