 | Here is a specimen of unusual Calcite from Ojuela. The rhombs of Calcite are lustrous, undamaged, transparent to translucent with a smoky color like Smoky Quartz. The color is probably from the Goethite. The brown gossan matrix is covered with a botryoidal bumpy coating a black Goethite. I have not seen this Calcite previously. It was in a flat of other Ojuela specimens from the Wright's Rock shop specimens. |
