11hlkmis  ((PYRRHOTITE, PENTLANDITE))   $15 MINIMUM BID, Gap Nickel Mine, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania,  12 x 9 x 5 cm, Cabinet

This mine was originally a low grade copper mine discovered in 1732.  In the early 1850's large amounts of Nickel were found and then it was mined for nickel until 1863.  At that time it was the locality for world class Millerite, NiS, specimens.  I was fortunate in purchasing a flat of specimens from this old Pennsylvanian locality.  I picked out the best 4 specimens for the auction and the remainder will go to tucson this year.  Here is a specimen of massive Pyrrhotite and Pentlandite from this old historic classic Pennsylvania location.
