6hlkmis ((BYSSOLITE on ADULARIA with GOETHITE ps after PYRITE)), $15 MINIMUM BID, Keystone Trap Rock Quarry, Cornog, Wallace Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania, 3.5 x 3.5 x 2.5 cm, Miniature, | |
Here is a classic Pennsylvania locality with an Alpine rock formation. It's a quarry that has been filled with water for many, many years. This is old material from an old Pennsylvania collection. The specimen is a floater of Adularia completely covered with small terminated and some twinned Adularia crystals covered with wispy hair like Byssolite. The interesting part is that there is also a peppering of very small, 1 MM or less, brown cubic crystals of Goethite pseudomorphs after Pyrite. ex Rick Hafer collection. |
