11hlkm.r  ((WAVELLITE)), $15 MINIMUM BID, National Limestone Quarry No. 2, Lime Ridge, Mount Pleasant Mills, Perry Township, Snyder Co., Pennsylvania, 16 x 11 x 6 cm, Large Cabinet

Radial crystals of Wavellite in overlapping spherical sprays. In some cases the Wavellite forms in narrow cracks. When the rock is split open the crystals are contacted on the top and bottom of the spherical crystals which pull apart leaving the round acicular sprays of crystals on each side of the specimen. This is a relatively new find from 5 to 10 years ago with this find producing the best quality Wavellite specimens even found in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania collectors were really excited over the find. I believe most if not all the find has been dug by now
