_small.jpg) | Cubic Halite crystals to 2.5 cm from the Great Salt Lake in Utah. This specimen has a slight orangish tinge. It is from the find about 10 years ago. Previous finds have only been white in color. Pink have been found during the large two or three years but these quickly fade to white withing 6 to 12 months after collecting. Specimens that grow in the lake quickly dissolve back into the lake when the salinity changes from a rain storm. |
