13hbmdis ((EPIDOTE)), $10 MINIMUM BID, Calvert Mine, Pipestone District, Beaverhead County, Montana, 4.5 x 2.4 x 1.4 cm, Miniature | |
After the Butte show I bought several flats of Montana minerals from a retired digger. These have not been cleaned. Here is a specimen of Smoky Quartz with Microcline. Generally Epidote crystals from this location appear to be single terminated crystals. Other have a V on the termination and appear to be twins. They also seem to have vertical cleavage and many split or are partially split vertically. This one is one that looks like a twin and has no split or damage. The photo shows a crack put has not completely separated. One of the best from the lot. |
