Dennis was a school teacher and shared his collection with students to get them interested in geology. He lived in several places in the western USA including Utah. Much of his collection was not labeled. Dennis also saved specimens being thrown out by the University of Utah (not making a happy wife) when the old Geology building was torn down to build a parking lot. A new building was built on the lot next door requiring the many years of contents and mineral specimens in the old building to be moved or disposed of in the trash dumpsters. ex Dennis McMurdie collection. |
