 | Here is a large specimen of pink Manganoan Calcite from Quiruvilca. Crystals are stacked flattened rhombs (discs) of Calcite. Stacks are rather short at only 5 to 6 mm high. Minor damage in a few spots but since it blends in so well, it is hard to even detect. Usually one thinks of Pachapaqui and not Quiruvilca when thinking of Manganoan Calcite specimens. Back side of specimen reveils the Sphalerite core. |
