3094ar GOETHITE pseudomorph after PYRITE, $50 minimum bid, Pelican Point, Utah County, Utah, 12 x 6.5 x 6 cm, Cabinet

This is one of the great Pelican Point world class pseudos commercially mined about 10 years ago by John Holfert, also know for his Topaz Mt claims. The area was open pitted down 30 to 40 feet to a layer of large clusters of Goethite ps after Pyrite. The area has since been filled in and reclaimed. The specimens are encased in a hard clay. John discovered a way to economically prep and clean the specimens. Five years ago I traded for the few that John had left.
