9ldgcirs ((SMOKY QUARTZ, MICROCLINE)), $35 MINIMUM BID, North Moat Mountain, Barlett, Carroll County, New Hampshire, 12 x 12 x 12 cm, Cabinet | |
Here is a large beautiful specimen with large lustrous terminated Smoky Quartz on cream to light reddish brown Microcline. The two large Smoky Quartz crystals are undamaged with sharp edges and terminations. The smaller has one small micro flake but otherwise undamaged. There is a large Smoky crystal on the back behind the terminated crystals. The large crystals has a flat termination just where the termination faces would begin. I see no saw marks and there is a small remnant of Microcline on this flat area. I am pretty that this flat area is actually contact with a Microcline crystal. It's hard to take a good photo with the contrast extremes. ex Ernie Schlichter collection. |
